1977 First own boat, a semi-open keelboat from England (Squib).
1979 – 1981 Volunteered for two years in the German Navy, including 15 months as a non-commissioned officer aboard a speedboat (3rd Speedboat Squadron Flensburg).
1981 WS Started studying law.
1983 First participation in the hanseboot boat show for the boat dealer ‘Kieler Bootsschau’.
1984 First participation in boot in Düsseldorf for the boat dealer ‘Kieler Bootsschau’.
1989 Foundation of Segel- und Kanusport Kiel (Sailing and Canoeing Kiel)
1 January 1995 Employee at DBSV, sales of sailing and canoeing equipment.
1 January 2000 Managing director at DBSV and at the publishing house for bootswirtschaft.
Collaboration in various committees at the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA), a total of 12 years on the ICOMIA board, four of which as vice-president.

Member of the working group for international trade fairs at the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry.
Member of various working groups at the German Institute for Standardisation (DIN).
Exhibitor or visitor at 32 boat shows worldwide.
Honorary position: Member of the board of the Flensburg Sailing Association for several years.
Co-founder of the German X-79 Class Association, board member and president.
